The Illinois Therapeutic Recreation Section invites you to “Make a Difference” in the current and future direction of your profession, Therapeutic Recreation. ITRS continues to offer a variety of services designed to meet the needs of its members.

Mission, Purpose, and Goals
The ITRS articles of operation state the purpose of the group is to develop and maintain a responsive, efficient and creative special interest section for its members following the Mission, Value and bylaws of the IPRA.

Basic goals of the section shall include:

  1. Provide the members with continuing education opportunities
  2. Advocate for special recreation services for all residents of Illinois
  3. Promote Therapeutic Recreation as a career
  4. Provide community and clinical recreation resources to Illinois residents
  5. Collaborate to provide innovative programs through partnerships
  6. Keep the members informed about benefits of IPRA membership
